Irrigation Design
A properly designed irrigation system can actually conserve water, and conversely a poorly designed irrigation system is liable to waste water. In addition, an irrigation company with sound knowledge of hydraulics can greatly reduce maintenance problems over the years and extend the life of your irrigation system.
Without proper amounts of water pressure, your irrigation system may under-perform. Therefore it is imperative that you seek professionals skilled in static and dynamic hydraulics in order to avoid wasting money on a system that does not serve your landscape’s needs.
We follow these simple eight steps in preparing your irrigation design plan:
- Create a site plan:
if you do not have one, we will create one. This planning stage is where we determine your soil types, plantings, wind exposures, sun and shade locations, and building and walkway locations.
- Irrigation Requirements:
Building on the soil types and plantings, we also will determine
how much water you will need and how long the system needs to
run
- Water and power supply:
we’ll need to determine your source of water and the existing incoming
static pressure. We’ll also look at your power sources to see where
the best locations are for hook up
- Selection of sprinklers or other equipment:
We’ll decide if you need impulse, pop-ups, shrub sprays or drip
irrigation nodes. We’ll do a lateral layout of main lines and valves
and do a general pipe sizing and calculation of the total system
- Locate the controllers and create a final plan. Of courses we do this all within the confines of your budget
